It’s super easy to make a hot-oil treatment for your hair! You will need:
- 3 parts cold-pressed carrier oil
- 1 part support oil
- a few drops Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) as an antioxidant
- a few drops essential oil
Think about the oils below before you decide which ones to use. Blend them in a sterile bottle with a dispensing pump, and shake well.
To use this versatile product, heat it up and apply to your hair, then wrap in a warm towel for at least 20 minutes before washing it out.
At bedtime, apply a few drops to split ends.
Or just run a boar-bristle brush against a few drops smeared across your palm, and brush through freshly washed hair, from the back of the neck up, before blow-drying.
Which Oils To Use?
If your hair is dry and dark, your carrier oil might be Olive Oil with Argan as the support oil, or Hemp Seed Oil as the carrier and Avocado Oil as the support.
Normal Hair will like Hemp Seed with Jojoba, or Coconut with Argan.
Oily hair will want Coconut Oil for the carrier, with Jojoba for support.
Thinning hair will want Jojoba and Evening Primrose Oil.
Generally, Lavender and Rosemary restore and regenerate, though Rosemary does better in darker hair. Chamomile is great for blondes.
